 Proposal for the 20th Anniversary/AGM - 2015

The GWOA was formed back in 1995 which would make the year 2015, its 20th year in the running. Please note, the recent G-wizz winter edition has reported as the year 2014 as our 20th anniversary date, this is wrong; it is in 2015.

This small club has modestly ‘chugged’ along so far and deserves some recognition at least, to mark its first, yet major milestone in the clubs’ history.

There is quite a disparity between the ideas generated without constraints and keeping in-check with reality. The ‘idea bubble’ has unfortunately burst on the likes of Chinese lanterns deployed by night, perhaps some fireworks, parcour course etc, etc...

Public Insurance costs are so prohibitive, dampening any ambitious thoughts. Thus, keeping to the matter of establishing firstly, how many to cater for?

So, bluntly asking the question, how members/non members can genuinely commit to attending this event and which part in the UK would be your choice of venue?

If, our attendance record is anything to go by, it has been noted, attendance to AGM’s has been highest when these meetings have taken place in the Midlands region or more precisely at Ashover, Derbyshire.

Although AGMs is not every ones ‘cup of tea’, therefore, understandable that, attracting a huge gathering can be an uphill challenge, but in this case an added event is being coupled to it, so hopefully, breaking the mold.

The Nation is riding a tough financial climate, leading to the question, what is considered an affordable amount to contribute towards a weekend affair proposing in its itinary; some on-site camping, feasting, fair with various other activities equipped with basic amenities?

Being a small club, reflects upon our funding; obviously small and laying on any function let alone a flamboyant one, understandably will cost money. The hard reality we are facing is, in order to lay on a memorable event regrettably, we have to charge for the privilege and remember this is a privilege.

What is the maximum charge, you would consider affordable to outlay as an adult or as a family? (Note: The 30th Anniversary held at Graz in 2009 charged some €300 per adult head as their entrance fee).

Please forward your thoughts.

1) Numbers earnestly committed to attend? (Adults/Children)

2) Where, in the UK do you prefer the venue to be held?

3) What is your affordable fee consideration? In providing your replies, please state if this is for the family or per adult head.

A detailed survey may be posted if and required latter.

Open to hear your ideas and suggestions.
