Also going under the hammer is a red 230 GES but I do not think it is a 230.

Expert opinion please.

The 300 has a turbo bodged onto a non turbo engine. The 230 has a 2.5 Diesel engine out of either a 190 or 124. Will be slow as hell. Lot less torque than even a standard 617. Unlikely to have the right sump for the G. Poor choice of conversion and number of faults to pick at. Tread with caution applies to both.

    do all the aftermarket turbo kits for the 617 have that sort of set up

    home made exhaust manifold (turbo way out yonder)

    difficult to make a pucca exhaust must go through the inner wheel arch

Only bodged ones.
