Help my diff locks all failed, or no yellow power lights. No power at back of switch . Fuses fine. I think I have narrowed it down to a failed relay,Relay is 2nd from the left , part no 003 545 33. 05. With a normal relay I get power to the switches. Though diffs won't engage. Unsure how many relays are involved in diff locks, at least 3?

Is the above relay only made by MB? As they not cheap £110 ish.

Re: 463 Diff Lock Relays,

I don't remember exactly what these look like, but most of the relays have removable plastic covers. You could try to open one and see whether the problem is a soldering failure, which is sometimes the case.

Looks normal, but unfortunately very exclusive

Re: 463 Diff Lock Relays,

Yes, I guess it would need to be a special to combine all the functions into one relay. Does it have 3 sets of contacts - one for each diff-lock ?

By the look of the whitish patches, the circuit board may have suffered from some water ingress. if you have a fine soldering iron, the circuit tracks can be repaired with thin copper wire.

Re: 463 Diff Lock Relays,

Thanks for looking, part number almost the same, except for 003 instead of 005

A big market in fuel relays, have ordered a correct timer lag relay today, hopefully end of problem.

Re: 463 Diff Lock Relays,

No just looks like a normal relay, nothing special. It's official title is Timer Lag relay, as you know diff locks stay engaged after ignition switched off, could live without this facility, but don't want to alter wiring. At least 2 other relays for diff locks.

Incidentally failed when off road in the Lakes with Gaz, thought lost all diff locks but he discovered very easy to re plumb the vacuum pipes for the central diff at the valve ( located on the heater air intake box) so at least got proper 4x4. Unfortunately axle diff locks not as easy to do as a temporary fix
