Hi everyone, first post from me, I have been doing up my 1992 300GD for almost 2 years now where I have basically rebuilt it. It is very close to getting it back on the road but I cannot get the ABS sensor light to go out, which is causing it to fail the MOT. I did find a fault on one of the connectors, where the cable had routed. This terminated into the front hub where the brake wear pad sensors are. Not sure if this is a ABS sensor. I thought I nailed it but the light is still on. Does anyone have any advice or know of any specialists I can take it in wales or the west.

regards, Jon S

Re: ABS fault

I'm not certain but is the ABS made by Bosch? If so, maybe a Bosch centre would be worth a try?

Re: ABS fault

The front sensors are Bosch, slightly cheaper from Bosch then MB, back sensors are specific and chassis number essential ( very expensive). You can separate the lead inside the front wing ( very tight connectors if not been undone) and check the resistance using a multimeter, you can do the same with the rer sensors,  hopefully will isolate which sensor is playing up? Tho could be the Abs overload relay, tho I don't know how you test these? Have you checked the fuse/s in it?
