Another hello from Scotland

Hello there!
I live in the north of Scotland, on the east coast of Sutherland & live on a croft which I work.
I had hankered after a G-Wagen for some ten years, and eventually came across a 'G' reg
lwb a couple of years ago. It was very familiar to me as soon as I got into the saddle, as I had owned previously a 115 merc and two 123s. In the two years of my ownership the car has hardly put a foot wrong.

I have a digger that sometimes gets itself into fairly precarious places and then decides to break down for reasons that it best knows, and to date the G has never failed to get up to it with my toolbox. It is certainly the most solid and dependable 4x4 that I have owned to date.

A while back I was offered an 'A' reg. swb for spares. I bought it, but on inspection the 20 year old vehicle was bodily in better condition than the 'G' reg, so I spent a minimal amount of money on it to get it through the test and thus now have two of the beasts on the road !

Co-incidentally, both vehicles were first owned by main dealers. The lwb was owned by a Mercedes dealership in Aberdeen and was their service vehicle, whilst the swb was owned by the BMW dealership in Inverness, again as a service vehicle. After 20 years use they replaced it with a younger vehicle - a swb G.
