Hi All,

I have 1999 G 500 and i was wondering about all of the doors locking once you go above a certain speed, mine does not have this or it's not working, does anyone have the same model and can you tell me if this should be the case

Regards

Freddie

Re: Central Locking

I seem to remember getting this feature turned on via STAR when mine was in at my indy for a service.

Re: Central Locking

You could try this - apparently this is how it's done on some other MB models:-

on other models, you only need to push the lock switch on center console module for 10 seconds, and it will activate/deactivate the central locking while driving.

or,

if you have a menu accessed by steering wheel buttons - It's under settings / vehicle / automatic door lock on the cluster menu.

I don't speak from any experience - just had a few spare minutes to try googling.

Re: Central Locking

Freddie,

Do you have an owners manual for your G500?

If not then I've just downloaded one for a 2002 model. Not sure how much it might have changed in 3 years but I can email it if you send me an address.

Re: Central Locking

Thanks for the link Mark it's most helpful,

I can only get to the settings part showing the message (Setting can be set at standstill return using R) it appears as if my

+ & - on the multi function steering wheel will not change up or down, i'm thinking it could be a faulty button unless anyone has another idea?

Re: Central Locking

Do the + & - have any effect when doing other stuff (changing volume on the radio etc.)?

If they work with the radio then the button must be OK.

Sorry, can't help with the settings stuff - I drive a lowly G300.
