Cheap G55 on ebay
I assume that this is a normally aspirated G55 and not a re-badged G500. There is no mileage mentioned but it does seem a reasonable price, assuming that it is what is says it is .

It looks like a re-badged G500. It hasn't got driver's side exhaust. Standard 18" rims not AMG. Still a LHD G500 for that price is ok.
it also hasn't got a spare wheel.
I asked the seller and he says "The car is a G500 badged and recorded with the DVLA as a G55 for some reason"
Engine number...
Curiously tired rear seats. If I buy it for my drug dealer friend in Bournemouth - anyone want the bull bars and sidesteps.
it looks nice only reservations are that its from the time when Merc quality was in the toilet, having said that it looks standard w463 so it may be a good un
That is almost a Russian price!
Wind-deflectors on the windows and offset number-plate at front = almost certainly Japanese.,
Which is good, as you'll typically get a well looked after, RHD, rust-free car with low miles, and probably with air-conditioning ...and pre MB-Chrysler.
There may be more SWBs than LWBs as I believe car-tax in Japan also factors-in 'footprint'. But I much prefer the former, anyway.

1998 to 2000 are Best G wagen ever built according to many peoples ... my V8 was same year and will run run run run forever
Major components and bodywork remained the same , but after 2000. interiors and wiring from the new c-class were used. Perhaps paints also changed at some point to water-based.
Some might say that the 3-valve M112, V6 and M113, V8 that appeared around 1998 are compromised designs compared to the 4-valve, engines before and after, but they've actually proved to be very reliable and strong engines.
the m104 engined 3.2 petrols weren't too clever either with their crumbly looms but they were slightly earlier vehicles
The VIN of the G500 - G55 badged - is WDB4632411X120158
They have a rather better value Range Rover! - http://www.britanniacarsuk.com/detail/169041/used-land-rover-range-rover-3-6-tdv8-vogue-se-4dr-auto-sheffield
This car has been on sale for ages... Before I bought "freds old car".
Looks tired to me.
Is there an easy way to tell the difference between the AMG 5.5L V8 and the standard 5.0 V8 just in case it's got one fitted ?
