Hi all, I opened the passenger electric window in my GD300 for the the first time in I can't remember when, it came down no problem but was a real struggle to go back up, so slow I had to do it in stages, would it be something that needs a bit of lubrication or would the motor be on the way out, if so are the motors serviceable or is a new one needed, thanks

The passenger side switch contacts could be internally carbonated hence no power to motor going up. Substitute with drivers side switch, if the fault transfers; you would have confirmed a switch issue.  smiley

If the fault remains  sad  then you will need to check the motor feed connections, one at the front of door pillar where the speaker would be and the other at the motor its self - me thinks'  indecision Try a direct feed to the motor to see if its performance improves proving it is a bad connection. surprise If the window is lightly held as to put a load on the upward motion whilst testing with a direct power feed and the motor slows, you are looking at another motor or regulator. You can try lubrication with small success but invariably it is a new unit, you will need - not cheap sad

I had this problem, and it sounds as if you will need to replace the window motor. Expect around the £400-£500 for the Official MB and fixing. sad However much cheaper if your handy with ebay and tools.

Re: Electric window on a 460
Get the bosch part number off the motor and do a detailed "search in description" on eBay. The motors are used on lots of winder mechanisms. Use your mechanism and just change the motor. Before you start changing stuff be sure what's faulty. Wire a feed straight into the motor switching the polarity to try up and down. If the window goes up and down it's not the motor The problem can be either the feed or the earth. We gave up with mine and just rewired it direct Boom Good luck Gordon

Re: Electric window on a 460

I took the whole winder unit out stripped the motor and the bronze bush on the end of the motor was seized onto the shaft.

took it off cleaned up the shaft - put back together - carbon brushes were ok - oiled the lifting cable and put back in truck.

works fine now - cant say how long for but it was a free fix.

There are other similar motors that can be used to fix this one so it worth the effort to save a big chunk of cash

The biggest problem was all the stuck well nuts that are used to fix the trim on to the door - mega bucks from mercedes but cheap if you get them from 109 Clerkenwell Road, Clerkenwell London, EC1R 5BY The have all of the special fixings Mercedes use at v cheap prices
