Hi everyone, my engine mounts appear to have failed. There is much more vibration and noise in the cabin and a clank when i turn her off. Can anyone advise me what my options are please? Genuine mounts appear to be very pricey. Are there any other alternatives i can use please? Thanks

You could try adapting engine mounts from any of the Land Rover/ Rang Rover models - it would be a matter of fittings or having brackets fabricated to fit; this has been practiced by some in particular the few who are into engine conversions.

Thanks for the help Gents! Mr Resto, i have sent you a pm. Jason, how much are they please? I have had a quick look in the dark with a torch. It looks like the exhaust is making contact with the chassis on the right hand side. There is a horizontal slot in the engine mount with a bolt through. This is at the bottom of the slot. Is it possible that this has somehow slipped and dropped the engine on that side? Could it be as simple as loosening the bolt, jacking it up a bit and retightening? Thanks!

Can't remember but think according to the workshop manual, sure someone else will advise, you are meant to compress mount in a vice with central bolt loose, then tighten bolt when it under compression, but possible if yours are original they just knackered? Only want post for mine, as they not mint but certainly useable.

I think the mounts are fluid-filled, which contributes to the damping, so they should be replaced with the same types for best results. Febi are an aftermarket spares company  and their source of parts is variable, you may be lucky with them... or not.
