Flashing indicators

Not sure what vehicle you have? Early 463?

If so, probably momentarily connected the battery terminals the wrong-way round to jump start and this has damaged your alarm system - if you have one and if it was the MB, 3rd party version (MB Approved Alarm sticker on the window). Try to disconnect the alarm wiring plug connector from the top of the alarm unit  and see if your indicators still work normally.

If you don't have an alarm fitted, then perhaps something strange with the indicator relay, but can't imagine why it would cycle like that?

If you have the commonly-fitted Scorpion Alarm unit, then you may need to disconnect it to remedy the issue

The violet/Black  wire and the Yellow/Red wire at the end of the long connector plug are the starter circuit and ignition switch (position III) respectively. They will need to be bridged.

Turn-off alarm (special key) so that it does not sound if its internal batteries are still good.

Disconnect long connector on the top of the alarm unit (under the rubber boot) and bridge the two wires (violet/Black  and Yellow/Red)   in the connector plug, by inserting a bent piece copper wire in the corresponding sockets. This will eliminate the alarm's immobiliser circuit from the starting system. Tape-up the connector with electrical tape and you should be good to go. If the alarm cannot be repaired, you may have to rejoin the two wires permanently by soldering for a reliable connection, or place a hidden switch there.
