G55 amg Kompressor

Hi, I live in France where they sold about 1 G this year. My MB dealer knows less than me about it and that's a problem. So I need your help guys.
I'm about to order a 55k on monday. I know that in the US, the shocks on the amg version are way too stiff and everybody seems to recommand changing them with the G500's. Is it something that is only true in the Us or is it the same in Europe? Do we need to change to 500's shocks or not???

I am 99.9% sure that there will be just one G55K version and that needs to have a stiff suspension to cope with the performance of the car.

If you want a 100% assurance, I am afraid that it will be very difficult to help you. I don't know of any G55K already delivered to the public so it's very difficult to ask.

Also, the problem is that the latest EPC available to the public covers all G models made until November 2003 and it obviously does not include the G55 Kompressor whose production must have started after that date.

Obviously, your Mercedes garage MUST have the latest EPC including all models. You are going to bless those people with a nice commission on a sale of a car costing more than a €100,000 so I would imagine that these jokers are going to pocket in excess of €15,000 for the pleasure of taking your order.

So I would take the salesman by the ear and get him to immediately e-mail the factory in Graz and get the replies for every single question that you think you'd like to ask and if they don't deliver a satisfactory answer I would simply go to the next available Mercedes garage,

This unless the dealer is giving you such a discount that he is effectively forfeiting his commission.

In such case, I wouldn't worry about having to replace the shocks and springs afterwards.
