About 16k...cars really hold their money here..and fuel at 0.08-0.16p a ltr I'm laughing..company pays fuel anyway. Ambition is to have g63 in about 5 years when I've hit some good sales targets.....love my fjcruiser but still can't beat the g presence.

This one looks interesting ......

2010 G65 V12 for only £40k,

I assume it is an earlier model G with the engine and bodykit as an aftermarket conversion, even so it is a pretty unique vehicle.

Here is the link in case I am missing something ...

I would remortgage and buy this if it was in the UK and RHD....for £40k... too good to be true?  G 65 Retails at £250k in the UK... surely it must be misprint or a scam ..£140k would be more belivable !!

Probably badge-engineered that's all, like many "AMGs" there are not what they seem. If you had enough money to pay for a proper V12 conversion the least you could do is upgrade the instrument cluster to match, I know if AMG or Brabus did it they certainly would, who else out there would you trust with a conversion like this?

Be very wary of the standard of "conversion" as some of the garages that do it are really dodgy operators that butcher a car as opposed to converting it. When something breaks you'll find out it has been worked on by someone not fit to operate on a bicycle.

Strange thing out there - people spend serious cash on their cars then try and penny pinch on service. Looks always come first for many people. Like this really cheap diesel E-class on there, looks great and only 3 years old, until you look at a photo that shows the service is overdue by 500+ days! Probably never serviced properly since it was imported from Europe!

Have the dealer check it over before you commit, at least they'll spot some things the annual vehicle test doesn't check.

very true..ive been in most dealer workshops..the worst was BMW..engines littered the floor, but then that's BMW mistake giving 25000 kms service intervals..the amount of sludge blocking the oilways was immense..hence why the Japs here recommend every 5-6000..due to the heat and dust and with the big AC compressors they fit the engines work hard.

And then there's the service intervals..its easy to send it to the many asian garages littered here and there for 20 quid service..including filter and oil !!.dealers are a rip off as anywhere but some you can negotiate..esp the likes of Renault and Peugeot who are trying very hard to push into this very Jap dominated part of the world.

Trouble is the European cars have a small AC pump for fuel effciency for europe.and we just don't get the temps in europe like here..So when Mohammed goes into Mercs and says..I paid $100,000 for my Merc and my Hyundai has better AC...try explaining to him why..he's not bothered..he's paid good money. Japs sussed this out years ago...wack a big pump on it..fuel is cheap !!.

service history is a must here to ensure your engine wont blow.and then there's the auto box fluid..do they ever change that ?

Re: in the market for a G..never though i woiuld be.

Thanks for the offer to have a look at the V12 G.

As already mentioned I would be interested to know if the engine conversion has been carried out to a good standard and also if it is the later twin turbo V12 unit that has been used.

Does it still retain a functional 4x4 drive. I know some of these conversions are rear wheel drive only and use the saloon car gearbox.

I would also like to know if the interior has been upgraded to the later spec. I see in the advert there is a photo of AMG dials but no other interior shots. I assume the base 2005 model was a G55 ?

I have always fancied a V12 G but a genuine G65 is a bit expensive !!  When my brother in law wrote off my SL600 I wanted to put the engine in my G but I could not find anyone who would do the conversion.

How did you get on looking at that black G500 ? Compared to the UK market it looked to be good value and very well presented.

I look forward to hearing from you.
