Hello everybody,
new member here from Sweden. I have not found my G yet but it's around the corner I hope. I'm looking for a 463 300D.

This weekend I tested a -91 in Östersund - Sweden but I think have to pass on that one... It says 240000 kilometres on the display but there was no service books and so on. My guess would be at least 350000.. The car was previously imported from Germany. Oil was dropping out from the end of the engine, probably the gasket on the crankshaft. The interior was in a pretty bad condition as well with a lot of cracks in the "wood" trims and uggly spots on the seats. The sunroof was sacking down in the back end. Engine sounded good though and no smoking however hard I drove it, gear and transfer case worked fine as well as the difflocks. The price asked was 139000 Swe. kronor. but I was able to lower it to 105000Skr. It could be a good deal after all but my wife would not let me do all the work required when we have a new familly member arriving in june... So I have to continue my search..

Regards
/Johan Gronlund

Welcome aboard and good luck with your search.

You will find one if you perservere. Not sure about Sweden, but here you should find one in pretty good condition for that much money, albeit probably not in a desirable colour. Your offer price that is, for the asking price you should get an excellent one.

Best of luck with your new family member!

Hi Johann,

The asking price is 139,000 Swedish Krona = 15,216.5 EUR (£ 10,000) which looks like a lot of cash for a G in the state that you're describing.

But given that (I think) new cars attract a lot of tax in Sweden I guess this is reflected also in used car prices (?).

See http://www.gwoa.co.uk/forum/45 for comparisons but I think that a 463 300 GDS like the one you're describing goes for a lot less in this country.

Anyway, it is what it is.......

Good luck in your quest and welcome to this (your) forum,

Cheers

OK, thanks for the comments.
I did not mention it but it was a black LWB with 5 speed manual tranny. And yes I think it was too expensive considering its shape. If it would have been in a better condition the price would have been OK, or what do you think? At least I think it matches the ones I have seen on autoscout24.de.

I agree with you. That price is more likely for a LWB but in eny event for the money it should be in far better shape than the one you describe. You're right also on the beauty of internet these days, which allows one to compare local prices whith those prevailing in the German market which is the biggest for the GWagen.

Good luck in your search.

Cheers
