yes I do

grumpy old men ( ar'nt what they used to be )

You dont want to get me started on tanners, farthings and groats, so instead I will ask Bill about this 617a tdi

1st : the good news HP & ft lbs ( or kW & N/m )
2nd : the bad, pounds shillings and pence

Have 1989 300 GD 5 speed which we intend to keep for the forseeable future, I may consider transplant as TB were decent enough to advise me against turboing existing 135,000 mile engine.

gearbox

my gearbox is 4 speed.I would also like to change this to a 5 speed,(the one with the overdrive top gear),but am worried that the normally aspirated engine would'nt work well with it.

Overall, I believe the advantages surpass the drawbacks.

You will have less noise and more mpg.

You will have to use the lever more often though, since 5th is somehow allergic to all but the slightest hill.

If I were to do it cheaply, I would not doubt it.

Cheers

Is there any there any upgarde of engine for a 463 diesel on a budget of 3k? Or does one go for a turbo? Present engine very good , would just love to hang on to top gear up most gradients.
