Re: Rear Differential clonking from rear

It is extremely rare for diff to go on G's. Do you have drive?

I can recommend two people, one is  a cousin of mine in Perivale or an ex-GWOA member but an excellent and honest individual down South.

There are two approaches to doing this job. Either one of my recommendations would be able to remove the diff to be sent off for repairs and them complete the rest of your list of work. The diff would only be sent off in the case of my suggestions cannot do diff work.

I 'll get back to as soon as I can

Hi Rakesh,

Whereabouts "down South"?

Always on the lookout for someone to tend to my G who actually knows what one is beforehand.

Best,

Mark

Re: Rear Differential clonking from rear

Hi Les,

Are you sure it's the diff? I had a knocking sound coming from the rear of my 300 SWB. Sounded a bit like a heavy metal pipe rattling around inside another heavy metal pipe pipe underneath the rear of the car (sorry, best I can do).

I thought it was maybe the diff (what do I know?) or the exhaust pipe  knocking - in the end it was the rear seat knocking. Only found out when I folded down rear seats for a trip to the recycling centre when knocking magically disappeared.

Worth a try if you haven't already.
