Snorkel Wanted
Not sure whether this should go under "Mods", "Parts Wanted" or "Diesel". However, does anyone know where I can get a rasied air intake/snorkel kit for a 1988 300GD? Preferable one that doesn't cost an arm and a leg (like the ones on the ORC website).

Hello Mark and welcome, I'm just over the border near Padstow, anyway, there is a magazine called 4x4 in all big stationers so browse the rear section and there is always a photo ad featuring a red G with a snorkel that this company manufacture,sorry cann't recall their name but if you're unsuccesful I'll visit my pal who never throws any magazines away, rog
I have now bought everymag in the shop that has anything to do with 4x4 and i cannot find the advert you are referring to, do you have any further info you could post on this company, or does anyone else out there know where i can purchase a snorkel?

Would appreciate the contacts for that snorkel system.
I bought an ORC for one of my 300GD's, it works well but the design is 1970's and the cost is very high for what it is.
The bottom mounting plate fits well (only part you really need), the riser is off the shelf pipe, the rain cap belongs on your outhouse vent and the flexable connection hose is a piece of aircon ducting.
Please send me the contacts for the UK manufactured snorkel.
