Hi All,

My car came with a Becker Indianapolis which is perfect as I love these units, every one of my car has one. But it didnt work.

I found that it had no antenna plugged in so fitted one.. Also updated to latest maps. So now it finds 8 satellites but it doesnt know the car is moving.

I know from past experience the speed pulse is PIN1 on the ISO socket. I found a grey wire to this pin had been cut and taped back. I found the other end of the cut wire and temp joined it but still no speed pulse being registered on the unit.

Could someone please confirm colour of speed pulse wire on the car and maybe location of another signal?

Jay

According to the wiring diag the GAL (speed pulse) cable connects from the radio at A1 to the ABS control unit at C1 via a gn/ws coloured cable.

Re: Speed Pulse Wire Help

Thanks ill look into this...

Currently there is nothing in the ISO plug... It seems the speedo works on a CAN system so no speed pulse there.

Is C1 the pin number at ABS control unit? Also is the ABS control unit at the pump itself?

I spent a while looking at WIS but sent myself dizzy.

Cheers

Re: Speed Pulse Wire Help

I've looked at a schematic diagramme which indicates a navigation control unit which receives the signal from the ABS control unit rather than directly to the radio. The abs unit is in the black box in the engine compartment. It's the rear most unit in there visible from the top. I doubt that there is any problem with that, most likely behind the dash.

The CAN probably only transmits operating signals from the steering wheel rather than the GAL signal.

You need to find the nav control unit. I don't know where that is as I don't have a sat nav like yours.
