I know you have probably seen this question being asked many times, but i have checked through most of the threads and still have not found a clear answer. What i want to know is where can i buy springs and shockers to lift my G approx 2"-4".
I have found a company that can supply me with adaptor plates allowing me to fit some bigger wheels. hopefully shod with 33x12.50x15 depending on if the suspension lift will allow this size? The G i have is a G230 SWB 1984 which i have cut the back off and turned into a pickup. I am having a (dare i say it ????) rover v8 fitted next week (unless anyone has any better ideas?) so should be enough grunt to get the wheels moving.
Many thanks and congrats on great website.

Suspension sorted !

Thanks to all you guys that emailed me with advice, i have now sorted the lift by having some 50mm longer springs made by a local company here (email me if you want there details) and i have also had 40mm spacers made with longer bolts for the body lift, which were also made locally. Just ordered BFG MT 33 x 10.5 x 15 which should be here in a couple of days.
After cutting the back off the G and getting rid of a lot of weight it has lifted by 3", so i may not end up using the suspension lift and body lift together.
I have lots of parts for sale including 230GE engine 60,000 Miles, long range fuel tanks gearboxes, 230GE engine (non runner), glass, rear door, etc etc.
Just let me know what you need and i will see if i have it.

I note you don't appear to be fitting longer stroke dampers, won't this limit the travel of your lengthend springs?

You'll probably need longer brake hoses too. And, if it's lifted a couple of inches or so, your caster angles are likely to be out of kilta so you may have to remount the front axle in relation to the radius arms to correct the geometry. Those big 33in tyres are going to raise your overall gearing so you may also have to opt for deeper final drive ratios in the diffs.....beginning to sound like an interesting project! Good luck.

I have fitted these dampers because after speaking to ORC in Germany they advised me that 90% of there customers that do a spring lift is done so with standard length shockers. So i will try these and see how things work out, it they do become a problem then i will have them cut and extended.

Just thought i would give you an update on the truck.
Tyres have arrived and are now fitted to original alloys and are now on the truck, and do they look the business!! i have also completed the 2" bodylift, with no problems, i will be fitting braided brake hoses, so will have no problem with them being too short.
I went along the range rover line and bought a V8 complete truck but just before coming to fit it, i found that the drive out of the gearbox turned in the opposite direction to the G, which would have been very expensive to resolve, so.... binned that idea and i bought a 380SEL of which now the engine is sat in my truck
Had some problems with the idle managment computer from the SEL, but 3 days of head scratching soon sorted it, and it fired up yesterday :D i have kept the gearbox from the SEL and have had the original G propshaft shortened. Radiator has now 3 cores ?? not sure if this is the correct phrase, but you guys will know what i mean, normally has 2. next week should see the new springs and shockers on the truck, new hande made stainless exhaust with twin exhausts out the back.
I have also lined the back bed of the truck with checker plate, which was all cut and folded last weekend, and this weekend we will be welding it all together.
All in all the truck is looking awesome, but i guess it wil take another 4 weeks to get finished as once all mechanical problems have been sorted, it still has to go to the paint shop for a full respray, and finally get the hand made stainless roll bar made.
