upgrade bumper from 2014 (with fog lights) to new version

hi all,

 

Trying to upgrade my bumper from a G350 BT 2014 to a newer version 2016.

Got the bumper, but seems that certain parts are missing to connect him to the chassis.

Anybody experices with this swap? Any idea if the additional cooler fitted, is stil l there in the 2016 350 BT?

hi all, it was not an easy one, but pulled it off.

any idea how to deactivate the fog lights. Mercedes was not able sad..no joke

I guess you cannot just leave them disconnected or you will have a light- failiure error? In this case you could connect a suitable resistor in each light circuit. probably, 10 ohm, 20 watt will do. Perhaps the 2016 model has a different SAM module for the lights, otherwise there would be a coding option in the diagnostic system to de-activate the fog-lights, but I can't imagine why they would have had that option as the fog lights were always needed (prior to 2016),  So the new ones must either have a different SAM or different software in the SAM.

(The original bumpers with the square fog-lamps were of heavy gauge steel. The ones with the round fog lights were of thinner gauge steel. Now I guess the new ones are plastic. This says something about the perceived market for these vehicles)
