Webasto Thermo Top C Auxilliary heater with remote

I recently commented that I have the Webasto heater in the vehicle, it works perfectly and also functions correctly when timed through Comand and by using the separate activation button down near the gear chage.
I had it all reset at MB since the remote fob sometimes works and then it will not.
The MB star checks concluded that the signal is being received and therefores hould work, which it did will at the garage.
The system for the radio remote receiver is factory fitted original and is the Telestart T90, it sits just under the drivers footwell.
The MB remote fob has 2 buttons green for on and red for off, when the fob works okay, the green light stays solidly lit for 2-3 seconds to indicate activation of the heater, but, when the remote does not work, this same green light will flash rapidly to indicate that the signal has not been received and returned back from the Telestart receiver.
I've changed the remote batteries and attempted to synchronise the remote to the Telestart but with no success.
I have called Webasto UK and they have no idea since the MB system is unique and they don't know how it should function.
I am at a loss on this - any suggestions greatly appreciated.

perhaps the remote has been dropped or damaged and you have broken or unsoldered contact on the internal circuit-board, giving intermittent behavior.
Try as close as you can to the vehicle to eliminate possible bad reception effects.

Broken solder joints in the key-fob can be very hard to detect with the naked eye. if you are handy with a soldering iron, go over all the solder joints in the fob circuit board. That is where I would start.

Just for reference, there is a huge resource for Webastos at this link:http://www.letonkinoisvarnish.uk/Eberspacher_Intro_1.html
It is designed for the sailing community but one of the starting points is for people who have acquired their used Webasto from an automotive source.
