As part of my mandate as rep I'm looking to organise some events oop narth. One thing I've longed to do since the seventies when I owned landies, was the coast to coast run, St bees in Cumbria to Robin Hoods bay on the east coast,  I saw Johnny doing it on fifth gear dome years ago, even my partner Barbara said it looked a cool thing to do.

Has anyone here any experience of doing this run? I saw a website of a company that ran runs tailored to the standard of the participants from light to extreme off-roading.  Try as I might I can't find it any more.

Any thoughts people?

Re: Weekend adventures

Sounds like a good drive, especially the Cumbria miles but google maps is saying 2 hours 40 to st bees, 4 hours road route to east coast then 2hours 40 back home. Plus some added time for some light off roading would put it around 10 hour driving time. Defiantly too much for me in one day. Driving up day before and staying b&b Would make for an expensive trip. Was you thinking before new year.?

Hi Gordon

Sounds a great idea...

I walked it around 15 years ago, bit more than 2 days ;)

I know a few guys that have done it on bikes so will ask them also

Might be up for it, either shotgun or looks like i may finally have a ride myself (not G but nearly close)

Keep me in the loop
