wheels / tyres 460 gwagon
Hi can any body help !! just put Gwagon through TVI in Spain . They have said the tyres have to be as per original 255/65 R16 109H and not 265/60 R18 109H which is whats on at the moment .i just need the correct tyre size for the TVI only then will put the 18s back on .Will the tyre fit on the existing rims (i doubt it will ) and would any other mercedes tyres wheels do the job (Vito or sprinter ?)
also need to change position of head lights to the opposite side is it a big job ??
And the rear hazard has to be moved to the other side aswell ?
Any help would be appreciated (im near Estapona Spain so any where local aswell for servicing )
Mick

The tv I I had done in Spain on a bmw cab was very strict ,they want different tyres different lights and lots more.
i gave the bloke 100 euro and he cleared it a week later I have been back once after two years and it was same man ,he remembered me and 100 more it went through again.they seem like they covalent servants and straight but if you have a friend locally it will pass Marbella the land of straight members.
estapona is minutes away.
I would never register a car there again ,keep uk plates and never get a ticket or a pull again just keep lots of paperwork in your car in English be polite and they are like educated baboons .sorry paco
A16" tyre will not fit a 18" rim; you need a 16" rim to fit a similar diameter tyre, so it is tyre and rim you are after, if a friend has a set on his vehicle borrow those for the test.
Sprinter or Vito rims do not fit on G-Wagen. As for the tyres; I do not know without doing some research but at this moment in time I am sorry to say I am unable to afford any research time due to personal circumstances.
For the head light you need to change the head light lens - not a big job. Won't head light converters do?
When you say rear hazards need changing, I think you mean the rear fog light and reverse light need swapping positions - a matter of wire extentions and, or chopping of wires.
Thanks i will try contacting him !!
