2007 Rear light conversion
Can anyone advise on the following...
The rear of my G currently looks like the 1st attached image (Rear)
I would like to upgrade the rear light clusters to 2007 spec shown in the 2nd attached image (2007) (with the built in reverse lights) and replace the reverse light in my rear bumper with a 2nd fog light. Sounds pretty straight forward.......
As you can see, at the moment the only reverse light I have is in the bumper. My (first) question is: Will I have to run a wire from the existing reverse light to the new rear light clusters?
Hope that makes sense and someone can help.

I think you are giving them too much credit - the reverse/fog lights haven't changed yet as far as I know. That clear lens is just a fancy turn signal with a yellow bulb.
Maybe this image illustrates:

Fog and reverse remain the same. New cluster is a straight forward swop. Opposed to every other new bit, the new clusters are much better made then the original. Better sealed. Also has 2 tail lights in each cluster. One brake / tail and one just tail.
Had a look at Eurotruck importers, apparent numbers are:
A4638201964
A4638202064

In the UK can be had from the Oxford dealer for a mere £108 each.

The new clusters are not LED's
W463 LED rear light clusters available here:

So far as I can tell, these are Plug and Play including resistors.
Eddie.
I see, that's why there is only 3 'bulb connectors' on the back of these LED rear lights (see attached)!
Thanks guys, that has saved me an embarrassing/costly visit to the auto electrician!
Does anyone know the part number and or the cost of the later style ones from Mercedes? I always check with them before I buy.
Thanks
