Hi ive got a 1980 230 g 4 cly petrol and its running very rich it smells of unburnt fuel at the exaust and the plugs are oiling up does anyone have a diagram of the carb on this so I can see where the mixture ajustment is or some description of the location of this thanks ,and cheers the noo,don

If your spark plugs are oiling up, it is because the the valve stem seals need replacing or your engine is worn.   As long as the engine does not smoke continuously, the news is not too bad.  I would suggest you change your plugs to a heat range higher to the one you are using now.  This will hopefully burn your oil, but you could suffer cold start problems as a result.

The carburetor adjustment is at the base of the carb.  There is a plastic shield which you remove,  that exposes to the the adjuster nut.

The idle adjustment is by the nut type screw on the inlet manifold, it has a tube attached on the top of it.
