Re: Bushwakka

 I know them.

Very, very good quality, but also very expensive. Their trailers are well equipped and thought out, but can be a bit on the heavy side. They have thought of putting things where they are out of the way, i.e. a water tank floor, etc.

Unless you are planning a serious African trip, it may be a bit of overkill, but then again, it is nice to have all your camping gear ready at all times, and you just need to hook on and go.

Re: Bushwakka

I had a look into the trailers a while ago and found them to be well made but thought they were too heavy and over-fussy (and built for a non-European climate - very outdoor and exposed). If you're thinking about going down the trailer route, try the 3 dogs products. They tend to be more for our climate, are much lighter to tow - chassis is made of Aluminium as well as top - and top quality as well (and are almost completely made in Europe). Hope that helps/ph.

Re: Bushwakka

Thanks for the observations folks, very helpful. The 3dog stufff looks good though I think it's not quite as comprehensive as the Bushwakka (BW) stuff which, I agree is a bit of overkill. That said it does very much have the advantage of being ready to go. 3Dog don't seem to publish any prices so I can't compare and although I agree BW ain't cheap, it is sometimes possible to buy used and/or import from SA. A good avenue if the ZAR is weak.

I'll keep looking, ideally I'd like the lightness of 3dog with the comprehensiveness of BW. Oh well !
