I am new to GWOA and new to G-Wagens, I am an ex MB employee and am a Motor Dealer very used to the Mercedes product, though I have no experience of G Class whatsoever ! I have always admired them though. Having "stumbled" across one in the course of business I have just taken the plunge and have bought a 1993/K W463 300 LWB which I intend to keep for myself. It is in reasonable cosmetic order and has a good history.................. up until the last owner bought it in 2004! After 2006t he poor car has been somewhat neglected financially. I will be looking to the forums for advice on sourcing parts,accessories and specialists who know and understand this model . I am based in Surrey and welcome any tips and friendly comments.

Congratulations and welcome to the club! Over here you'll probably find everything you need, and the most knowledgeable people on these cars, as the majority of contributors run Gs, or have run Gs, and some have more than 1 G :)
Your profile doesn't say where you're based? This could be useful in tailoring responses to your query, as there are a few members in certain areas who are very helpful with G mechanics.
There are plenty of G owners (and some mechanics) in the home counties, so you're in good company. I found my G in London.
