Hi,

just did a engine swap, same type engine, 0M603.972 of my GD350, year 92 to year 95.

After the change the gear change is harder, more impact/not so smooth/cushioned.

I would like to ask what can be the source of this change of operation?

Yesterday I change the ATF oil, just in sake, it was not that old, but... it was not clean.

I only figure out one, that is a different vacuum level in the lines?

I don't find on this gearbox the same possibility I've found on W124 300CE24V that is a small adjustment on the valve.

The only adjustment I am familiar is the modulator valve which controls the smoothness with which the gears can be adjusted. This is a unit, as I know it to be mounted on the off-side rear or right side rear looking from the rear of vehicle. For the more expert; I think the pin at the end of the modulator valve comes in different sizes which affects the gear change quality.

Outside of that, you could have an internal fault in the valve body - a job for a specialist to diagnose.

Thanx, I'm not sure if I know what you refer.

Do you know if is anyhow related to vacuum lines?
