Just to finish off my musings today - found these pics of  reg. donor G for my West Africa '87 460 swb with manual pump 5 cyl sprinter and hd gearbox..Vehicle has been behind Tacoradi Flour Mill for 7 years , been negociating for 2 to buy it so I can clone the reg. Nearly impossible to import any vehicle over 10 years into most african countries, was quoted £4750 duty on a 2001 lhd Disco by Ghana Customs last year ha ha.
Have seen 5 G's there in 4 years visits , this one , a newish 463 Nigerian reg.  a lovely police extra long 461 double cab with 8 seat tilt rear and a couple of white  461's ex UN.
Will finish by commenting that it took me a while to get used to G's being called 'like the Ghurka....of which there are a fair few ,like Ssangyong ,using a Benz engine...the least powerful...OM616 @ 43 KW !! Will now complete my GWOA housekeeping by  posting an ad !!

Sad pictures Tony.  There are quite a number of G500s and some G55s in Accra. Most of them come out in the evenings / weekends. Saw a tenorite grey G500 in Labone a coupe of months ago look great.

You based in Accra ?

LOL try parking out Side Monsoon Cafe on a Friday and Saturday. Usually around 2 G there (or they were back in 2010)
