I have changed radius arm bushes as easy to tell when they were shot.

Panhard Rod bushes have never been touched, no knocking or anything but at 23 years old they probably would benifit from renewal, has anyone changed them and noticed a noticible difference?

I have changed quite a few in my time but can not claim to say that, I had noticed any difference in handling after rewal.

You could be right! I will wait until mot man pronounces them dead!

Hope the 606 is running well.

Re: Panhard Rod Bushes

I have changed the bushes on the rear of my 230 GES and it made a major difference - it passed the MOT with the new ones!!

No other changes though.

Re: Panhard Rod Bushes

When the panhard bushes start to go on a Defender, then the steering gets very wobbly (sorry, gets wobblier!), and shimmy happens quite a lot too, when you hit a pothole or something similar, and the steering wheels shakes like buggery.

It's the actual axle rattling side to side.

From what I see, the G setup is very similar, so you might just find that changing the bushes makes the steering a little tighter.

Re: Panhard Rod Bushes

I think , unfortuantely the bushes will have siezed to the bolts, that was the case in one rear radius arm, I put a huge bar on it , but just breaks the rubber in the bush, Though I must see what happens before assuming the worst......

Re: Panhard Rod Bushes

No Shimmy , thank god, but perhaps steering has got heavier over the years  but not drasticly
