QH Shocks, anyone used them before?
I need a set of rear shocks for a 460 LWB and a couple of companies have quoted on QH shock absorbers.
They are I beleive OE manufacturers for GM.
Anyone any experience with them?
Thanks
If QH stands for Quinton Hazell (the shock brand is LipTec I think), then yes I have tried them up front, replaced at the same time as the rears (Bilsteins) on the 300GE, and they lasted around 3 years, while Bilsteins are still going. Outside painted green. Very cheap compared to Bilsteins, but now I've replaced them with Konis...seem to do the trick. I believe they were gas-charged.
In that interval they did around 30k miles if I'm not mistaken.
I haven't used them myself but Lip are an OE manufacturer for a number of car makers. Different models from different manuafacturers use Lip. They may not be your the best overall shocker but they will be a reasonable quality alternative, with good warranty backup, and usually a very good price. You could probably buy 3 or 4 sets of Lip for the same price as one set of Bilsteins.
Having said all of that, I am using Konis myself and I am very happy.

Let us know how you get along with them, and how dear (or not?) they are.
One venerable member reckons QH just took an application from a commercial van and matched it to the G...
Thanks for the replies, I will note for future.
I ended up buying Monroe shocks, for the rear. May try these for the fronts next time.
