Removing the head light switch ?

 Any one know how to remove the main light switch from the dash . I have 1993 G wagon .
Thought Mortinson posted about this before but i couldn't find anything !

The light switch sometimes needs a second turn to switch on the side / parking lights.
Would like to remove & clean .

Any help much appreciated

 just pull it straight out...keep pulloing and it will come off.  once you have pulled it all the way out there will be a little nut that you can remove with a set of needlenose pliers.

Hello G Driver,

My memory is questionable at present, but from what I think I remember, you need to pull the light knob off, using a long nosed grips, and cushioning the grips and the knob with a rag so not to damage it.  You will see a large flat nut that needs undoing, using the grips again.

To withdraw the switch, detach the cover panel at the side end of the dash panel (door open).  You may find some fuses there, I cannot quite remember if this is easily removable or if the black switch panel is detachable after removing the knob?????
