I'm looking to change the Tyres on my W460 230GE SWB.

They currently have kuhmo mud tyres on there and they are really noisy and probably not helping with fuel consumption.

I am looking for something for everyday road use that look good and won't look tiny on 15" rims.

Any ideas??

Re: Tyre Help

If you like to have the occasional off road - I just love these, not sure if they do them on 15's (can;t work it out from their site). Very good, robust - though I have gone for the MASSIVE ones :). I think when it come time to change I will be more sensible, but have to say the tracktion in both rain and snow (and at the AGM were very good for AT's)

Failing that I would recomend standard road going fuel savers...(Just where is tyreman when you need him lol )

Re: Tyre Help

The standard tyre size on a 230 with 15inch rims is 255/75R15.   The overall wheel/tyre diameter should be 29" or thereabouts.   You can go for an American size, 30x 9.50 or 31x10.50, but with a 230 you haven't got a lot of power, and the main benefit of using American sizes is for all terrain or mud terrain treads.   You could well find the taller tyre slows the car and makes it less economical.

Your can't have quiet and economy and ability in mud all from the same tyre, unfortunately.

I've found Continental tyres last well and perform as well as Pirellis, perhaps not as well as Michelin.   I suggest you look online at Black Circles and see what they have on offer and go from there.
