Which tyres run down first on a 463? After my car came back from the repair shop my wheels were mixed around, and 2 are more worn than the other 2. I would think rear goes first, but don't know.

Hey christo,
On a permanent four wheel, drive my bet would be on the front tyres
You turn and brake with them...and you have equal traction on all four
But i read that it is ALWAYS smart to put the best tyres in front...no matter if your car is a rear, front or all wheel drive.
Because you steer and brake with your front tyres.
Good luck
Geoff

Re: Tyre ware

easydeluxe is correct in his thread, the front tyres do wear out quicker, hence the tyre should be rotated every 6,000 miles front to rear in the same direction of travel as they came off, of.  Any vehicle with Power Assisted Steering (PAS) will have, inherently excessive outer track wear so it makes sense to rotate wheels to even out the wear and extend tyre life on the whole.

Thanks, I've got the better ones on the front, so I'll keep them there. I'll have to dish out £150 for a pair of rear ones soon though, can't see much more than 5k left in them.
