Re: UNSELECTED WIPER OPERATION.

It seems to me my suggestions were of no help to you.  Was any work done to the vehicle before your fault appeared?  I wonder, if this could be tied down to that ocassion?  Purhaps a wire being attached to the wrong terminal supplying a feed the wiper motor.

The only way I can think of to trace this fault, is to detach one wire at a time, starting at the wiper motor its self and note your results.
If you have spoken to me before, I have suggested to you, and even left a message on your answer machine, that the likely things could the relay etc...  Have you been able to substitute those to eleminate these?

Call again to discuss what exactly you have done so far, if not by phone, by email or this forum,  what ever.

Cheers,

Re: UNSELECTED WIPER OPERATION.

Thinking about your case is bugging me, I have come with a suggestion to help identify the circuit, causing this problem.  I hope we can, by a process of elemination pinpoint the area for diagnoses.

The idea is to break into the socket plug connecting the wiper motor.  You will need to make possibly six equal length connector wires of about 50mm long or so.  Connect to one side of the wire with a male spade terminal and on the other side a female spade terminal.  Next, seperate the plug socket to the wiper motor, located in the engine compartment, near the vent housing.

Insert the wire connectors in the plug sockets at both ends, ensuring the connectors are joined to the correct terminal, matching the colour code of the wires being connected.  If everything is fine, the wiper system will work fault included as per normal.

Disconnect one wire at a time from just one end of the plug socket.  You will note the pattern effects of disconnecting the wires individually and hope fully you can identify the responsible wire that stops the wiper operating when the lights are switched on.  Note the colour code of this wire and report back, we try to take it from there.

Cheers,
