Hello,

any one familiar with alternative to MB OEM 603 200 06 22 and HELLA BEHR visco clutchs?

Previous one is HELLA BEHR and only lasted 2 yrs, 200 euros part.

I've found for my GD350 for 50-70 euros

OTSA

AVA COOLING

AKS DASIS

MEYLE

 

any suggestions ?

Hi

A603 200 06 22 fits both the G350TD OM603 Turbo and the G300TD OM606 Turbo.

A606 200 01 22 fits the W210 E300TD and is the same single centre bolt fitment with a 3 bolt Fan mounting to the same dimensions.

My understanding is that the difference is that the G unit can be locked off in the event of Viscous Hub failure, where as the car hub cant be locked?

A603 200 06 22 is £319 gbp

A606 200 01 22 is £239 gbp

A little cheaper but not much...

I have no experience of any of the other manufacturers

Hi Gav,

thank you, I was not aware it can be locked, any instructions how to do it?

The HELLA BEHR  8MV 376732-471 costs around 200 eur (170 GBP).

2 basic types ,3 bolt [ most common ] as fitted to most cars and light commercials

                          4 bolt h/duty , some G's ,lockable device can be seen on visual inspection ,use only ' to get home '

Like springs, couplings are a consumable item !

Ebay from £25 ,fit an aftermarket unit

For the money spent on visco couplings you may as well consider going to an electrical fan conversion.

At time of this draft I am short on time but if this is a serious consideration, latter, I can send you info on suppliers and one or two tips for conversion that is not part of the normal circuit which I feel is worth considering.

To lock it bend tabs in so Fan is locked but this really is a temporary measure. Shows this in the handbook.

You could try the electric route using Paccet etc?
