Hi.

I have a bit of a problem and was wondering if anyone could help......

I bought a set of steel rims for my 463. It has alloys on it. I tried to change them over only to find that the bolts are too big (the shoulders need to be smaller). Thinking that my local MB dealer would have smaller bolts and be able to help me I  visited them this morning: they told me that a 463 has no other bolts spec'd, but there is a different steelwheel bolt for the 460. Long story short, they couldn't tell me whether the thread would be the same, whether they'd fit - never done it before Mate, can't help you..............

Does anyone know if the standard steelwheel 460 bolts fit a 463's hub and if I can use these for my steel wheels? If not, where could I get a set of wheelbolts in the aftermarket (as I really want to avoild yet another dissappointing to our most unhelpful local MB dealer!).

Thanks in advance/Phileas

Re: Wheel Bolt sizes

You can not use the alloy wheel bolts to steel rims, they do fit the fronts wheels but protude extensively.
Over a length of time they could be difficult to undo. Fitting to the rear wheels will cause great damage. The brake shoes suffer.
I am sure G-Wagen International can help with a set of steel wheel bolts.
