I have just visited the Benzworld forum for the first time is over 12 months. Its a shame we dont get as many foreigners active on our site as theres. The likes of G560 has deserted us now after the battle between diesel and petrol.

I have to say the responses are alot better, whats up with us then  I'm feeling lonely and down trodden all of a sudden.

You are absolutely right. Most Americans are foreign, aren't they?

Perhaps we should all become Americans so that we would qualify as foreign.

By the way. I am foreign.

Now more seriously, I believe that the key to the success of the BenzWorld forum is the sheer amount of extremely knowledgeable and very enthusiastic G-nuts that continuously participate there.

In contrast, only 17 members in this forum have posted more than 100 times and 30 (that is 13 members more) more than 50 times.

So there you go.

The US site has been around for a very long time though, and the G forum is a really small part of a huge forum, the site (http://www.mbnz.org/) is probaly the biggest Merc site anywhere, so it's not surprising they have a lot of members.
But of course, it would be nice to have more posters here as well.. :D

I notice though the core replier are Hipine, Dutch and abc 4x4. So although its vast in size compared to ours there is still only 3 - 5 core people in there. I like the idea of posting piccys though. without having the ag we have to do.

I like our local setup too. There are things we can discuss here freely. Most of the regular guys here have met each other on occasion.
The US board certainly has alot more action and has some knowledgable people on it too. I certainly don't believe we are in any competition with it. Alot of the subject matter on the US board is about the current Gs we of course don't have the new sales that they do. Guys like Hipine just give so much time, its amazing

I think you're right. Might it be because he can post pics of his very interesting GWagens there?

Though he knows that his wishes are my commands...

We would send you all home but we wouldn't have anyone to drive our buses.

This is an areal photo of what we eventualy found at BRITZ the surrounding woods is where we often be caught.
The site is a listening station eaves dropping on all the radio traffic between military contingents in West Berlin.

Makes sense, anyway have only had 4 people inteersted in the G wizz issue and all want to join the GWOA but want to know the best way to do it. I suggested I sell the membership to them under BUY NOW on ebay by paypal and I can forward money to the club, just a thought to get some more overseas members.

Don't feel too bad, gentlemen. You have a great forum here. While the BenzWorld forum may have more traffic, yours has every bit as much comeraderie. I can't tell you how jealous I feel when I read a post entitled "Who wants to meet up this weekend at [enter generic name of muddy bog or trail here.]" In the U.S., the percentage of us G owners who actually go off-road is tiny, and we are so spread out. Benzworld G forum members can generally only manage one common outing a year, and for most of us, it requires a drive of close to 1000 miles to participate. Typically those turnouts will see 10 or 12 trucks. Scenes like this are unheard of:

Plus, this forum has more on-line resources. Also a source of jealousy. If you ever get the PayPal thing going, I'll sign up for sure. :)

If you spend a little more time poking around, I think you'll find that the roster of regulars is somewhat more lengthy. I have around 400 posts there, over a span of about 2 1/4 years, and I still consider myself a freshman.

Cheers,
