new member-driving green very basic (steel wheels, no carpets) 230ge -1986 but good condition. May need exhaust manifold near future - advice sought on sourcing. Also, tires seem adviseable to replace - 205 r16s - has anyone used 750 x16 size instead

Haven't as yet seen you on the road. Currently running a LWB Grey and a SWB Silver G.
In addition to an ongoing G project which is costing me a fortune!!
The parts you are looking are reasonably easy to source. Place an ad in the parts wanted for the manifold, the tyres are locally available.
I've accrued a fair few sets of wheels and tyres if you want to give me a call.
