Hi,

I have to apologise that I am not all that mechanically minded but I am trying to figure out what is going on with my 280ge.

As the car slows down, you can hear a rotational squealing sound- it speeds up as you go faster and slows down as you go slower. You can't hear it once the speeds are above 20mph. The weird thing is, when you touch the brakes, the sound is gone but as soon as you let go, it's back. Worse yet, it doesn't happen all the time. It seems to happen every other traffic light. It's definitely coming from the right side of the car and I think it's from the front right wheel. But I have no clue why it does that.

Any ideas?

Thanks again in advance! :D

have you tried wheel bearing play. Lift front wheel and check play, it could be its enough for the disk to rub on the pads. if you touch the brakes it would dissapear. If wheel bearings are ok dont worry to much.

had the car put up on blocks and there is a little bit of wheel bearing play going up and down but not side to side. It seems rather negligible. I think it had something to do with the brakes more. We put some (copper grease?) on the pads and the pins and it seems to have solved the problem. :D

Thanks for your help!
