Its been a while....

Anyone know how you get to the blower fan in a 1987 G230GES ?

I can get to it from 'above' where the air intake is, but when the drain hole there filled up, and water poured into the footwells via the fan, it eventually seized up the blower fan and I need a new one.
So two questions:
1. how to get to it?
2. anyone got a spare fan (as if!)

You have to remove the heater box from inside the vehicle, its not to mad a job for a competent mech, I have a 230 with a complete unit in if you want to come and take it out before I scrap it.

Thats great. I doubt I can find one much closer, although new I don't think they are too bad. I replaced the fan in my 240TE recently, so if I can figure out how the dash comes off in the 230GES, I will be fine.

I should be able to come via your way in the next 2 weeks if I can arrange it with you. Can you drop me a contact email or number?
