Do any body know if the exhaust of a auto 280 Lwb, with tailpipe on the back fit a 280 Manual with tailgate at side, near the wheel?
And what about taking it to a diesel Lwb all about the same age, including the Barrel/box? :?

All 460 Gs, diesel or petrol, have the same tailgate from the factory. It goes over the fuel tank and then exits to the right-hand side, underneath the rear bumper.

So one of those has a home-made setup

All 460 Gs, diesel or petrol, have the same (or extremely similar) exhaust tailpipe from the factory. It goes over the fuel tank and then exits to the right-hand side, underneath the rear bumper.

 This one has got the tail pipe coming below the rear pasenger door on the drivers side?
Also the drum, some clever git has wrapped a piece of Aluminun arount the metal box which really was fall apart with rust with major holes, and still got it through the MOT, when I bought it.
So any box from the 460 range will fit? SWB or LWB? or does it not matter?
A few 463 box`s on ebay at the moment do you recon, any good?

If you want to d the job properly then give Stainless Exhaust Specialist a ring on 01623552262. He is in Sutton in Ashfield and does a top quality job. He just fitted a full ss system to my 463. He has the jigs to make them up for a 460 also.

Exhaust??

£280 Just for the drum and tailgate pipe, or £830 for whole thing in SS.
Think it might just have to be Kwik FIt, or if someone has one in fair condition might do the job :?:
Any idea of taking the rear pipe from below the passenger door to the back bumper?

Exhaust??

Indy,
I thought that I could do a cheap bodge job on my system as I had 2 mufflers that were still ok, but when I tried to work out how to join the various pieces of pipe together when the joining flanges were rusted away I realized that it would never work. If you can do lots of work yourself you might get away with it but otherwise it will shake itself to pieces very quickly and you will have leaks/ mot failure again. I ended up spending the big money because I couldn't face postponing the problem for only a short time then having to deal with again.

Ian,
The new system if great. The fabrication is as good as I have seen, and the fitting took 4 hours to finish. It all hangs exactly where the original one did. I went for 3 mufflers and it is quiet. There is a deep note which is notisable at 70 mph with the windows up which wasn't there before. I think that this is normal with a ss system because the steel is harder. It is not a exit sound but a noise from the whole pipe. Jesus and Tim both omitted the first muffler which increased the noise considerably. I didn't want that.
You can see it on the w/e.

What time can you get here Fri, I get home at 6
