Indian "G"
Spotted this interesting lookalike on a recent visit to Bangalore. At first glance the gunsight on the grill suggests a G variant, but I think it's more likely an ex-military TATA 4x4 with an owner who just likes to think it's a G. You see a lot of old Ambassador cars out there with Merc hub-caps, too. We can all dream ...
Anyway, note the nice home-made "MERCEDES" and "BENZ" stickers below the winscreen (have to zoom in a bit to appreciate those fully). Oh, and it's called "HUMBUG" which is a pretty good name in the circumstances.
Now I suppose someone knowledgable like Morty is going to give me chapter and verse on the export of military Gs to India in the seventies ... :?
That would be the Bajaj Tempo Trax.
If I'm not mistaken it even has a mercedes engine.

Bloody hell, anoraks in Kensington ...
I was pretty sure somebody here would put me right
