HI all,
Read other treads on modifications needed for the lift. What I'd like to do is to fit the Jungle Trekker II, 33" tyres on my rig.
The last rig I had was a 1990 LandCruiser II which was fitted with ToughDog Suspensions + springs for a 4" lift :D . With these I fitted the 35" Tyres which made it awesome offroad, even with only a 2.4ltr engine. Sadly, I had to let this one go to put my G on the road.
Now ..... I realise that the lift may not be so simple with the G.
Questions .....
1. Can someone pls advise me on which brand of shocks should I go for? I will have to source for the springs to match locally.
2. Besides the brake hoses, what else will have to modify?
3. Would it be advisable to change my 4 speed ot a 5 speed? If yes, what will have to look out for the change it out.
4. perhaps I should settle for longer springs and MT tyres .... and put the winch to work more??? :(
Many thanks .... this great G will be with me for a long time as it was gift with the condition that I can never part with it.
Cheers,
Jeff

4" suspension lift

1) dont go for 4" 2" is enough for 33" simex
2) exisiting shocks are fine for 2" lift
3) brake hoses are fine for 2" lift

you dont need to lift it any higher as it messes with you COG. if you want more lift body 2" to keep COG to a minimum. If you do both you can have 35" simex. I would keep with 4 speed for off road use.

35" possible with a 2" lift?

Thanks for the advise Pete,
1. You mean we can fit 25" simex with only a 2" lift? This would be swell!
2. My "play ground" is normally about 600k from home ... that's why I was considering a 5 speed, but with a 33" or 35" simex maybe the 5 speed will not be worth the $$ and trouble. What would you opt for in this circumstance?
Rgds,
Jeff

G realisation

Read a few more threads from BODY and I guess I have very limited access to expertise and parts for body lifting my G. I'll guess have to settle with spring lifting to mount no more than a 33" Simex.
