Hi All, does anyone make different pipes to replace the exhaust boxes down the side as they are venerable to damage when off road, I can’t see any sensors in the pipes so I guess I could remove them and fit straight through pipes.
Does anyone see any problems with this apart from being a bit louder?

Re: Removing side exhaust boxes

I guess that you are referring to a 463. It all depends on how much noise can you (or the MOT man) tolerate. I have removed the first section (to the RHS) in my 300 GD and, for example, the 250 GD came from the factory without the second (crossover) section. I have a custom-made stainless exhaust and it sounds just lovely but on the noisy side. But if you attempt to remove the two longitudinal sections and leave just the smaller, crossover one, your G will sound like a rocket but it will fail the MOT.

Cheers

I think you'd want to do some serious homework before attempting that on a 400CDI, starting with how it would effect the warrenty.
I assume your talking about your G400?

Yeah sorry I should have said, Its my G400 which has a cat and box down both sides both about 6" in diameter so they are already dented and I'm worried about pulling the whole system off! :?

I have a similar pipe coming out from the drivers side, rear passenger door?
And it a 280GD (460)
making a noise on the box any idea apart from a new staninless steel one?
not wanting to pay more than the G Itself?
