More problems! Shouldn’t complain really its 20 years old and for the past 4 I’ve not had to a great deal.

Anyway it has sprung an oil leak from the rear diff. It’s leaking from where the prop shaft enters the diff. So maybe just an oil seal?

Topped it up with maybe 100ml so not a disaster, yet.

Anyone had this and what was the solution?

Any help gratefully received.

Russ

Re: Rear Diff. Oil Leak

recently had this on the front diff (i think similar), the oil was leaking to the bottom of the diff housing, not actually dripping, but it was clear there was some leak because the housing was coated with dust/sand where the oil was. The dealer changed the oil seal and now it's fixed, so i hope that is your problem only as well

Re: Rear Diff. Oil Leak

I have similar on rear diff of my 300 TDIntercooled what I would call a weep, try to park near a Landrover then no one will notice yours.

Re: Rear Diff. Oil Leak

I know, only leaking from one orifice is pretty amazing in LR terms!

Just started the rear panel replacement so a bit of an oil leak is the least of my worries. It’s pretty grim behind that ali. checker plate
