Exchanging 300 GE engine for 300 TD in LWB463
Does anyone have an idea of feasibility (and part requirements) for exchanging an M103 3-litre petrol enginefor an OM606 TD in a LHD 463 LWB? Can this and most ancilliaries be sourced from an E or S-class, or are there many G-specific parts? :?:
Mmmm begs the question as to why ? is it the cost of fuel in Brazil ?

I would also really like to know this info, will the auto gearbox fit the diesel engine? and will it still top out reasonable?
It does seem to be possible- would love to hear from anyone who has actually done such a conversion!

No, the petrol engine is on it's last legs, and continuously has had problems outside the major conurbations due to inferior quality of fuel (which is mixed with alcohol, but that's a different story!) - Thought that it could be more practical to replace the whole lot with an OM606 which seems more suitable for the region. Thanks, and I hope that someone will be able to be of general help at least.
