Nothing too serious for my 300GES?

My coolant warning light has recently remained on. The running temp is always around 85 and the level in the tank is perfect - any clues, could the sensor be bust?

Replies much appreciated - thanks.

Oh, since I'm on any good advise on buying/sourcing complete exhaust system - mine is coming to the end of its day?

Re: Coolant Level Light

you sure its not the washer bottle level light, some get confused with that one.

Get a compelte stainless one by www.powerflowexhausts.net. cost £450 for complete one made to order and to my spec, while you wait. nationwide network.

Re: Coolant Level Light

Thanks Peter

Unfortunately it was not the screen wash level! The other strange thing is that the light (yellow) is much, much brighter than the other lights - the others would seem dim in comparison. Any ideas - could it be a freak?
As I mentioned previously the coolant level and temp are perfect .

Looking forward to your response.

Re: Coolant Level Light

I had my exhaust done by these people: http://www.stainless-exhaust.com/ It was arguably more expensive than PP's quoted price but the system on a 463 is also more complicated and convoluted than that of a 460.

Being your G a 1991 model, I think that you can make do with the catalyst of your system. In that case, I would just leave a long longitudinal silencer connected with the downpipes that connect to the exhaust manifold in one end and with the tailpipe at the other end (# 1) and remove the other two silencers (numbers 2 and 3 in the picture). That should make the system cheap, efficient and exciting.

Re: Coolant Level Light

I forgot to say that my system has a long straight pipe in lieu of # 1, but the rest is exactly as in the picture (original). It has a nice, raspy, throaty note and can pass the MOT without a wink from the tester. Had I know then what I know now, I would have gone for the setup I just suggested to you which is much simplier and must be much cheaper. But mine is a G300 Diesel. I don't know if having one silencer instead of 3 would be too much for a G300 Petrol.
