WHAT HAPPENED AT THE AGM?
anyone home yet ? any pics? any excitement ? i had a fairly normal weekend , made it 2/3 of way up the widowmaker and cooked the trans , ripped off the fuel tank, got airbourne and very very nearly rolled the G , whoops!
Was a pretty good weekend (considering I only arrived Sunday noon!), and the off-road course (my first time in this country) was great, not too hard, but with challenging bits for those with less cares in the world (or deeper pockets :P )
Loads of new faces to learn, and the range of expertise available was impressive. Lots of kids as well to prove it's not all big boys and their toys, but small boys have toys as well!
Check out the following choice footage (if twodogs doesn't mind!)
Also I've never seen so many Gs lined up, really made me feel at home...some fabulous photo ops...for those who remembered to click
Hi All,
What a great weekend! We had a little misty rain Saturday morning but soon cleared and dried out. A big thanks to everyone who helped organise the weekend, We were amazed to see a waltzer and other rides on site when we drove in on Friday night. The site was in a lovely picturesque part of the country and in easy access of the motorways.
It was a good place to meet other members and make friends with like minded people.
The off road site had some interesting slopes and holes which was made more interesting by 4 foot high stingers and thistles which covered the ground so there was something for everyone.
Sorry we shot off without saying bye and thanks to everyone whilst people were still at the off road site but the offer of a roast dinner at mums couldn’t be refused!
The meeting made me realizes how much effort it takes to keep the GWOA running and how difficult the job of being a committee member really is!!
Thanks Again from Alix and I :D :D
what a fantastic weekend , many thanks to all the organisers a sound job by all.
great to put names and faces from the forum posters and loads more .
anyway im off to fix me clutch now :D

After all the work "the commitee" put in will "the commitee" be organising a similar family weekend in the near future?
I also have pics & comments from the weekend but will wait until i calm down before getting involved further.
Merv , I think the word organisers was used ? of course a big thank you to yourself and family is in order :D
Cliff
We all wait with baited breath!
oh dear, sounds like a bitter taste has been left in the mouth of some. A shame but was expected.
A great weekend event. The camping was fun, always good to chat with G people. The off road site had more then enough to keep us well occupied. Some G’s may have to live with their wounds for a while. GLASS were on hand to take whoever wanted on some interesting green lanes.
Be a long time before I forget that Waltzer, what a ride that was.
A big thanks to Merv, Kate and family for hosting such a brilliant do.
Sure the AGM has left a bitter taste in many mouths, but we’re big enough and ugly enough to get over it.
Anyway, it ain’t going to spoil what was a fantastic event.
:D just arrived home @ 10.30 tonight
great weekend great criac and dring and food
and plenty for the children to do
looking forward to the next
but back home in ireland awaiting rain after the six hundred mile plus trip
GREAT SHOW Hands up for the organisers
anyone got any pictures of the weekend, can you send them to me so I can make a transistion movie for the forum and make a DVD. I am compliling events on one DVD that I will donate to the club for them to copy and pass/sell on to anyone interested. The kind of thing that's on my web
The more the better, any pictures of people doing silly things if any.
Such a shame you were not in attendance, then you would have your own more `quirky` pictures & could write authorativly about your own experinces rather than writing in the 2nd, 3rd or 4th person.
You & your sarcastic sense of humor were missed as was your G-class disguised as a fiat van.
Bless my fiat,200,000 miles and still running, might outlive my G's.
Tut Tut boys, don't spoil the party, best weekend I have ever had with GWOA, who ever organised it. and nice to see a huge variety of Gs and people, great to have new members joining it really is an internationol club now.
I have decided to drop one of my interests from the end of this season and get more involved with the club I will ask the Chair off forum in what capacity I can best help the club.
Three cheers to all those involved especialy the members that made it. :D
Great Event

Well I thought it was great, and as a novice off roader the lumps and bumps were fantastic, I want more hairy decents and odd angles!!!
what a great AGM meeting, and lovely to see so many G's even though the two week old paintwork on our now looks like it is 20years old!!

Phew! well a lot about the AGM has already been said before i have managed to type a word! BUT i am still one handed so word processing is a problem (slave needed - any applicants apply here).
Here is what i have to say in list format : -
Great host and hostess - THANK YOU for your superb hospitality
Beautiful location - did anyone else walk at sunrise through the fields? no nor did i but shauny did (Sam needed to pee)
Amazing party - I won't mention the Waltzer (Bob has not been the same since!) But Meatloaf was FANTASTIC!! Could we have Elvis next year?!!
Off roading - for me it could have been dull as i do so like to drive myself, but thank you Mark for that great go around the course in your G it was FAB.
No one else has said about the catering - we would have starved without the catering tent as one handed cooking aint easy and the pain killers were by that point making me light headed............
It was good to see the now old and familiar faces and the new ones. hopefully next time we meet i will be healed and back in the driving seat.
Looking forward to Wales.
Helen
