Hi All, New front prop shaft being fitted in the morning. It has landrover double cardon joints both ends and adaptors between the G flange and landrover knuckles. This now makes it a constant volosity shaft. And all built cheaper than an original merc shaft!

This shaft should stop all harmonic vibrations which came after I lifted the vehicle due to differant angles on each end of the original shaft.

Will let you know how I get on tomorrow and if ok will let you know the price and builder.

Re: New Prop Shaft

Hi All,
Well the modification has worked out really well so far although I've only done a couple of hundred miles so far, the front harmonic vibration has gone all together (well it had to now its a CV chaft) and is a please to drive again, Ive tested it up to 130mph with no funny noises and nothing jumped off.

Dave Mac prop shafts built the shaft and as with all R and D project go a couple of modifications and and flange conversion plates had to be altered, but now Dave Mac's know exactly whats needed. and all was built cheaper than a standard MB prop shaft.

tested up to 130 eh? is that all the 400cdi is good for? lol just kidding, i am impressed, with that lift and all, make sure you don't do it on a windy day! nothing compares to the power of the V8s..pity so few of them though, must leave some fuel in the stations for lesser cars..

Dave Mac props are a great firm. I recomend their work to any one. I have been using them for donkeys years, the original BRIXMIS OPEL FFs had the drive shafts built by them in the 60s and 70s. The original owner that did that work is still around.
