There was a link and\or Topic on here a few years ago re K+N Filters.

They're fabric not paper so are washable and also let more air through.

I fitted one to my ge300, can't say I noticed any difference in performance but then again they are about not having to buy a new paper one every year, supposed to last 1 million miles, just wash and re-oil every year.
